Ganondorf
This page contains pictures taken of me, Anuj, at Otakon 2006 wearing the Ganondorf costume I made for the cosplay that year. For those of you that don’t know, Ganondorf (often going by the name of Ganon, with misspellings such as Gannon and Gannondorf), is the villain from the video game series, the Legend of Zelda. He made his first appearance, so to speak, in the first Zelda game, the Legend of Zelda which was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1986. Though his form was significantly different, his character, Ganon, was the same.
He made his first appearance in the form that I portray, that of Ganondorf, in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time released for the Nintendo 64 in 1998. Despite his more human-like appearance however, his villainy could not have been more inhumane; with a vicious plot to control all power in the world of Hyrule, he was deemed nearly unstoppable. Considered by many (including myself) as the best game in the series, not to mention the greatest game ever made.
Why have I chosen to don the appearance of this notorious character? Well, I love him, that’s why! I love the game, I love the characters, story, the epic drama with its charm built and centered around simplicity, capturing one’s imagination using only the basest of human understanding is no easy task. That and his role in Super Smash Bros. Melee is incredible, and he is one of my favorite characters to play as.
Anyways, without further ado, here is me as Ganondorf!
Enjoy!

My Ganondorf costume, taken at the hotel we stayed at during our trip before the first day. It probably cost approximately $60 to put together and about 15-20 hours (2-3 weeks) to put together. Most of the materials are pretty self explanatory, the shoulder-pads were made with Football shoulder-pads, and the sword was made using an extendable curtain rod with cardboard and varying colors of duct tape.

My Ganondorf pose, probably first seen in the famous Space World 2001 video of Link versus Ganondorf, also where Ganon’s sword made its first appearance.

Another Ganondorf pose!

Zoom on good Ganon picture, this is easily one of my favorite pictures taken of me in the costume.

The blur effect is obviously caused by the camera or shaking or something, but I like the pose and I think the picture looks really cool.

I have a stupid looking expression on my face, haha.

Me getting into a fight with a Link.

Stupid Link blocks my attack.

Another angle on that last picture.

Another Link! You bastards are everywhere!

Ack! You and your bloody courage.

Oh no! I’m about to get PWNT!
This group shot picture turned out great!

Another great group shot of us.

Steal the Princess!

Steal the Princess…and KILL LINK!

This picture was just too good to not put up, despite the two Ganondorf’s in it.

Well hello there guys, what are you all up to? Wait, don’t I recognize you from somewhere?

Holy crap! You’re those bastards that always mess up my plans! Ack, ambushed!
ARRG, I’ll fight all of you!

Commence BATTLE!

Links are all dead…

Victory is miiiiine! Allll miiiine!
Mwahahahaha.
I didn’t even have to use my second form…losers.

A whole new age of villainy.
Villainy…with a smile!
